Come and see the Tsunami…..

1 10 2009

For me it’s the end of the day. It is now dark outside and the T.V. is on in the lounge. I had to change the station from all the drama in Samoa to “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?”, so I wasn’t overloaded with negativity. I am now looking at ways to help the folks in Samoa and Asia who have been devastated by this recent Tsunami.

Did you know there are still tonnes of aid sitting on the wharves from the Boxing Day Tsunami which occurred almost five  years ago.  There was some $14billion USD raised. Did it get to those affected?? We’ll never really know.

What does this mean? Does it have any meaning? What can we all learn from these events? Given that local New Zealanders actually went down to the beach to “see the Tsunami”, I am not sure just whether we learn too much. Someone said, “it’s natural selection.”

I do know that this world is moving on a positive path. Surely some of us materially grow from these events, making those who lost their lives valuable in at least we do learn.
