Social media, internet usage and television is fascinating

24 09 2009

The relationship between social media, internet usage and television is fascinating. A recent poll conducted by Research International has shown up some interesting stats.  To see more on this work view the whole article published in the NZ Herald Thurs 24th Sept.

“He said 97 per cent of internet users now researched online before making a significant purchase. Twenty-eight per cent bought goods as a result of reviews they read on the web and 34 per cent said they changed their mind about a product after reading a review online.”

The internet and all it’s amazing facilities have changed the way we do business. This research result shows up the extent of these changes. If you are marketing on the internet at any level, then it would pay to be aware of these trends.

I have been really enjoying the facilities of Twitter and Facebook, particularly of late. I have just discovered “Dropbox” today. What a great way to share files. A significant number of us multi-task through all these and many more, at the same time as watching T.V.

Now there’s even more opportunity to market accordingly.
